Senior Programs

The Everett Senior Center (ESC) is a multi-purpose recreation center for adults over Age 50 located at 702 Burchfield Street in Everett Park in Maryville. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The center publishes a monthly newsletter/calendar of activities email, which is included in the annual membership fee of $20.00 per year for an individual or $35.00 per couple. Other membership benefits include a 10% discount off rentals, program/activity discounts, and free member appreciation luncheons. The Center's Inclement Weather Policy: The Everett Senior Center will follow Maryville City Schools' schedule on inclement weather days.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

⚬ Work on your own Scrapbooking and Paper Craft Projects – Mondays, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

⚬ Quilt/Knit/Crochet Group meets every Tuesday & Thursday and every first Friday of the month at 10:00 AM. Bring your project and join the fun.

⚬ Oil Painting Classes with Barbara Goddard – Wednesdays, 9:00 AM - Noon. Cost: $80.00/Members, $85.00/Non-members per 6-week session. Contact the Center at 983-9422 for class dates.

⚬ Watercolor Classes with Penny Reasor – Mondays, 9:00 AM - Noon. Cost: $80.00/Members, $85.00/Non-members per 6-week session. Contact the Center at 983-9422 for class dates.

⚬ Drawing Classes with Yichen Reneau – Wednesdays, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Cost: $80.00/Members, $85.00/Non-members per 6-week session. Contact the Center at 983-9422 for class dates.

‍⚬ Tai Chi – Introductory Beginner Classes held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-9:45 AM and Intermediate Classes from 9:45-10:30 AM. Participants can expect to improve their balance, flexibility, strength, coordination, and concentration, all while enjoying a pain free, calming, and relaxing activity. Instructor: Mary Pope Cost: $5.00 per class paid directly to the instructor.

⚬ Musicians and Singers are here, AUDIENCE welcomed! Join us for "Mid-Week Music" every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Enjoy a free musical showcase of singers and musicians with acoustic instruments featuring local hidden talent from right here in East Tennessee! Refreshments provided. Check-in at 9:30 AM with performances from 10:00-11:30 AM.

⚬ Walking Club – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-10:00 AM, weather permitting. Meet at the flag pole near the entrance of the center for a ½ mile to 1 mile walk. Free.

⚬ Chair Yoga – Tuesdays from 12:00-1:00 PM. Improve flexibility, balance, mobility and much more. Free.

⚬ Veterans Coffee & Fellowship – Thursdays in the ballroom from 1:30-3:30 PM. Free.

CARDS & MISCELLANEOUS GAMES AND CLASSES

⚬ Hand and Foot every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 AM

⚬ Duplicate Bridge – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays beginning at 10:00 AM, must have partner, call 983-9422 for more information.

⚬ Rummikub every Thursday, 1:00-3:30 PM – a tile game for 2, 3 or 4 players at a time.

⚬ Mahjong every first, third and fifth Thursday of the month, 12:00-3:45 PM – a solitaire matching game that uses a set of mahjong tiles rather than cards.

⚬ Scrabble every Wednesday from 12:30-3:30 PM

⚬ Mexican Train & Chicken Foot Dominoes every Friday from 9:00 AM – 3:45 PM

⚬ Billiards Room open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

⚬ Chair Volleyball every Friday and every first, third & fifth Wednesday of the month, 10:00 AM – Noon. Volleyball played with a beach ball while seated. Exercise combined with loads of fun. Come join us!

⚬ New to Medicare every third Tuesday at 1:00 PM. Helping to answer your Medicare questions. Free.

Rental Fees

The Senior Center is available to rent during non-programmed hours. A contract, two-week notice, and $100.00 cash deposit are required for all rentals.

Rooms available for rent (3-hr. minimum):
Large Multi-Purpose Room with use of kitchen
1-50 people – $250.00
51-75 people – $350.00
76-100 people – $450.00
101-200 people – $550.00

Additional hours: $50.00 per hour (Maximum rental time: 7 hours)

*Rental time includes set-up and clean-up. Example: A 3-hour event will need to be a 4-hour rental to include 30minute set-up time and 30 minute clean-up time.
