2008 will be the tenth annual Ruby Tuesday’s Triple Crown of Running in Blount County. Those participating in ALL THREE races will be eligible for Triple Crown cash awards, door prizes and a special memento!

However, if you are not able to participate in all three races, do not be discouraged. If you participate in the Reindeer Run and at least one other designated race, you still have a chance at winning the great Triple Crown door prizes worth a minimum value of $100 each! You are eligible whether you partipate in the 5K or 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk.

Those who participate in at least two of the three races, one of which must be the Reindeer Run, will be eligible for numerous prize drawings. Prizes may include items such as resort/hotel accommodations, TV’s, stereos, cash, etc. A GRAND PRIZE DRAWING for air travel tickets will take place as well. You must be present during the Reindeer Run drawings to win!

Scholars Run Road Race & Fun Run/Walk

This event is a 5K (3.1-mile) road race and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk and is the second event of the Ruby Tuesday’s Triple Crown of Running. The race begins and ends on the Maryville College campus. A portion of the proceeds from this race will fund two annual student scholarships sponsored by the Foothill Striders, Inc. Individual and team competition will take place. Special awards will be given to the overall and masters winners, the top three finishers in each age division, and to the top three teams in the 5K. All Fun Run/Walk participants will receive a ribbon.

Time:	Check-in 6:45-7:30 AM
	5K Race 8:00 AM
	1-Mile Fun Run/Walk 8:05 AM
Registration:	Entry forms may be obtained at the Parks & Rec. Office.
	Mail form and fee to Scholar’s Run: P.O. Box 789, Alcoa, TN 37701-0789 On-line registration available at www.parksrec.com for an additional fee.
Cost:	$15.00 pre-registration – must be postmarked by August 7
	On-line pre-registration closes at 2:00 PM August 14. Office pre-registration closes at 3:00 PM August 14.
	$18.00 day of race
	Cost includes a T-shirt and great giveaways.

Reindeer Run

This run, which is the third leg of the Ruby Tuesday’s Triple Crown of Running, is a 5K (3.1 miles) and a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to the Empty Pantry Fund. Awards will be given to the overall and masters winners and the top three finishers in each age division. Prizes will also be given to the best Christmas costumes. All Fun Run/Walk participants will receive a ribbon. The Triple Crown of Running award ceremony will take place at this event.

Registration:	Pre-register through the Parks & Rec. Office or On-line registration available at www.parksrec.com for an additional fee.
Cost:	$15.00 pre-registration On-line pre-registration closes at 2:00 PM December 4. Office pre-registration closes at 3:00 PM December 4. Forms mailed must be postmarked by November 25.
